Cotton

On 2/7/09 we brought Cotton home to live with us. We got him from a couple in Autauga County and the first place we went after we picked him up was to see Harlie. She was so excited and just loved him immediately!!

They became fast friends and when it came time to leave, her little heart just about broke!

She and Talya soon came over to our house to see him that evening.

She read one of her Golden Books to him - she told us she was the Teacher! Talya was exactly like that when she was her age. Cotton had only been with us 4 days when I accidently stepped on him and broke his left hind leg. I wish I had broken mine instead. I took him to the vet and they put a cast on him. They ahve rechecked him twice since that day - on Wed. they took it off and took another xray. The bones have healed a little but not enough. they said he will need to be in a cast for 4 - 6 more weeks, and we are not to let him walk on the leg. So unless he is outside going potty, he is either being held by one of us or in his crate! It is a challenge for sure. He cries to be let down when you hold him and cries when you first put him in his crate. It is so pitiful!!! Here he is trying to walk. He is the sweetest little thing and i feel so bad hurting like that!!! Hopefully his leg will be all better soon!
