Scenes from Gatlinburg

We spent many an hour standing next to/sitting in front of the fireplace on the second floor. The guys kept us with a good supply of wood and some great, roaring fires! The decor of the chalet was very comfy and tasteful. JR was given kudos from everyone on the selection he made for our New Years get together. The website is Mountain Laurel Chalets. Divided between four couples, the price was very reasonable. We discussed coming back for another get together at the same place.

Standing at the top of the stairs in The Christmas Place, my favorite store! There is so much to see in that place...I know I missed something else I could have bought. :)
We visited the Arts and Crafts area. G and B were our guides. None of us had been there before. G found a really neat birdhouse for their backyard - a little log cabin. So Cute!

People were 'throwing pots' (is that the correct phrase?) inside. Fun to watch. They had many pitchers, pots, cups and pitchers inside to purchase. Pottery makes me think of M L. She would have really loved this place.
December 31st was our Second Anniversary! We loved the little chapel in the background - so Gatlinburgy. :) We celebrated with a great steak supper grilled by W, yummy bread made by P, potatoes baked by B and all under the supervision of G (who was our chef/cook for almost every meal we had at the chalet). What a wonderful way to celebrate two great years together as husband and wife! I am so lucky to have JR in my life - he is such a sweet, thoughtful, loving man. We have faced many life challenges together during this past year and I know having his strength and love made those difficult times a lot easier for me. I hope he feels the same.
